My name is Gloria Ortiz, a friend of Juan Carlos Mayor. It is with a heavy heart that I am letting you know that Giancarlo Mayor, son of Juan Carlos Mayor, has passed away at the young age of 21. He unexpectedly died of a heart failure while on a trip to the Grand Canyon. I am reaching out to you to ask you to contribute to the expenses of transporting Juan Carlos Mayor to bring his son’s body back to New York to be buried.
THIS IS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION AND THE FUNDS ARE NEEDED ASAP! I researched some of the expenses to give the contributors an idea of what he would need. For example the tickets NY-Arizona are about $600-$1,000 for 1 adult, Stay is about $150.00 per night. The embalming of the body is about $1000-$2,000 and the shipping container and fees for the funeral home coordinating the shipping is about $1000-$3000. The fee for the receiving funeral home is $900- $2000.
I have set up a go fund me account for this purpose. Any amount will be appreciated. Juan Carlos has been a support to many youngsters while working as a bilingual transitional counselor at Riker’s Island and currently his work as a Bilingual Psychologist for the Committee on Special Education at the Department of Education.
