Here at the Horizon Initiative, we are entrepreneurial philanthropists, working to radically change the way orphaned children are cared for. We believe that one life can change the course of history and the power of human connection. We are determined to empower orphaned children to self-sustainability, permanently breaking the cycle of poverty. We currently have three orphaned communities around the world and are shooting for 30 different orphaned communities in 20 different countries by the year 2030.
The goal for this fundraiser is to fund the safe refurbishment and interconnection of the 120kW solar system previously donated at our orphan community in Zacapa, Guatemala, called Casa de Esperanza. Casa de Esperanza is located just outside of Zacapa, Guatemala, with twenty-two children in our care. Our facility includes six family houses, a school, and a community center as well as on-site agriculture used to offset the operational costs.
The solar system requires several product upgrades, commissioning services, and interconnection services to properly sync to the utility grid with safety measures in place. Once commissioned, the solar system will generate free energy for the benefit of the orphaned community, saving >$35,000 in annual expenses. The donations will be used to pay a local in-country service provider to supply the parts and labor required. Your donation will be applied dollar for dollar (100%) towards this project.
Thanks in advance for your contribution - helping to empower the orphaned to self-sustainability - from all of us at Horizon and the Alternative Energy Development Group.
