Help Timonthy Walter smile again

Hello, my name is Mark Hernandez and I am fundraising for my friend Timonthy M. Walter. If you know Timonthy (and yes, the "n" in his name is part of his uniqueness!) as I do, being good friends you know that he always desires to help and care for others, which lead him to a career in nursing. At the height of his career as an RN, at age 26, he was diagnosed with CMT1A, Charcot-Marie Tooth Disease. CMT is a progressive neurological disorder which damages the nerves and muscles of the feet, legs, arms and hands, causing weakness, pain, atrophy, deformities and difficulty with balance, walking and use of hands. At age 28, Timonthy underwent major surgery called Triple Arthrodesis with hammer toe correction and ankle fusions on both feet, which consists of a series of 5 surgeries spanning 4 years. The surgery's goal was to enable him to walk for estimated 10 more years, but this past Spring marked 24 years and while he struggles with the pain, he is energetic, positive, and always looking to help friends, congregants and neighbors! CMT is often accompanied by additional neurologic disorders and Timonthy was diagnosed with Epilepsy several years after his surgeries, starting a continuing battle to manage medications for severe seizures. Today he is fairly well controlled with a combination of treatments, including medicines, diet and exercise. Unfortunately, the years of medications, seizures and the CMT itself have severely affected his dental health, including decreased bone density, jaw dentition, tooth loss, chronic infections and now Stage 4 Periodontal Disease. I've seen him work hard to care for his teeth including regular dentist appointments, following an intensive daily regime at home and carrying dental insurance. Unfortunately, the insurance only covers a fraction of the costs so most expenses are out of pocket, which in itself has been challenging on a fixed income. Over the past few months he consulted with Dentists, Prosthodontist and an Oral Surgeon to find out his options. In order for Timonthy to delay the deterioration of his jaw, chronic bone infections and loss of his teeth, he needs aveleoplasty surgery, basically, 12 extractions, the placement of two titanium implant posts, and bone grafting. After the insurance coverage, he still needs $16,841. to cover the remainder of the costs. Without the surgery, his jaw will continue to collapse and he will not be able to eat chewable food or live a normal life. I met Timonthy while he was leading the Mercy and Justice ministry at Bridge Church and heard the many stories of how he served his community and throughout the San Diego area by helping the needy & marginalized. Since moving out of San Diego, he now worships virtually at Faith Chapel and is seeking a miracle. Please help get involved by donating financially so he can undergo this vital oral surgery, or through prayer and support... He is always willing to walk along side of anyone who is in need... now let's walk alongside him! Thank you for taking your most valued commodity...TIME to read this. Please feel free to share this Fundraiser for Timonthy M. Walter God Bless You..
