HELLO GOFUNDME CROWD! We are a group of Student filmmakers who need your help to fund our Graduate Film - Hopian!

(Pronounced Hope-ian..... not Hop-ian)

Hopian is a story of a young girl named Lara, who is experiencing a struggle with alcoholism after a tough period in her life. During her struggle, Lara encounters a strange creature called "Hopian", who begins to stalk her every move and impact her day to day life, leading her to try and desperately rid herself of the creature. It's only when Lara is reduced to her lowest point, that the true nature of the creatures intentions are revealed to her...

This film is ultimately a very personal project to our Director - Katie, and we want to tackle our themes of mental health and its often overlooked details of relapses and aggressive behaviour. The focus of our film is to showcase that recovery is not a straight or quick path to healthy life, but instead a slow process that can feel like an impossible challenge.

Due to the quality we want to achieve with our short film + Handling our source material and themes with the utmost care, we are raising money to help fund our pre-production and production costs to make the best possible film we can! This entails location costs, actors, catering for cast and crew, production design and much more... So you can understand we need to have a sizeable budget to achieve our vision and deliver on our goals. We feel that our target of £2,000 is an appropriate target we would love to hit to make Hopian, and any help is deeply appreciated.
