Hi,

I'm Mandeep and I would love to tell you about our tech start-up, the first app devoted to connect people touched by cancer, and support them through cancer loneliness and isolation.

Having met in February 2025, Emma and I formed a friendship born from a deep passion to help those touched by cancer. At the time, Emma had stage 4 terminal cancer, and I had lost my best friend to it, as well as my dearest family. With Emma's idea to create a dating app for people with cancer, and my ideas of bringing communities together through apps, we decided to join forces to create Hope to Connect, an app dedicated to people living with a cancer diagnosis, survivors and those touched by cancer to help them feel less alone.

Sadly, on 29th April 2026, Emma lost her battle to cancer.

Whilst we knew this day would come, nothing could emotionally prepare for this loss. Em and I had big dreams of what Hope to Connect would be... something that would fill a terrible void in the world. My passion to bring Hope to Connect to life burns more furiously than ever, and in every milestone I wish to celebrate and help all those effected by cancer.

The goal is to create a safe place where people can connect and find each other for companionship, friendship and even love.

To build this app, we need to raise an initial £80,000. We have raised enough for the planning and design phase, but we have much more to go.

With your help, we can reach this target faster, and bring to the world an impactful, go-to app for all those touched by cancer.
