Cindy Eastburn's Personal Battle with Cancer

Remember Cindy Eastburn? She and I became best friends in 1971! She is going through the fight for her life after receiving a diagnosis of 2 different stage 3 cancers on December 6th. Cindy lives in DeFuniak Springs, FL, a small town in the Florida Panhandle and far away from medical services. She has been quite sick for several months and not able to pursue her livelihood and passion as an Artist. Her Social Security covers her rent but without her income from art, she is without options. She will begin traveling over an hour, one way, 5 days a week for radiation and one of those days will include chemo for 8 hours. The objective at this point seems to be: SHRINK those tumors so that they can be surgically removed.

I'm hopeful those who shared some amazing times with this charismatic, loving, and spirited being will be able to help with prayers and a financial contribution. I'm hopeful that the community of Artists with whom she has participated in many fundraisers through the years will help to get the word out. I'm hopeful that the RHS class of 1974 will remember the infectious joy she brought to our school events as a cheerleader. I'm hopeful that the community in Fairhope, AL where Cindy lived for many years, will remember her and will want to help. I'm hopeful there will be contributions made in memory of those who have battled this insidious disease. I'm hopeful that folks will rally around her in whatever way they can to help. I'm hopeful after you help in whatever way you can, that you will pass this along.

Most of all, I'm hopeful that Cindy wins this battle.

We've thought about the possibility of a small camper or RV as an option to the extensive travel 5 days a week. Today, 12/27 Cindy is having a PET scan and meets with the Radiologist on Monday which will reveal more of what's to be managed and figured out. In the meantime, I thought I'd ask if anyone might know of a trailer that might be available??? Just a thought...
