Hi, our names are Jenn and Nick Conte. We’re both teachers in the Austin area (Nick is a middle school band director, and I’m (Jenn) an elementary special education teacher.

This is incredibly vulnerable, so please bear with me!

We have tried to conceive for over four years now. A couple years ago, we went to a fertility clinic for answers. As it turns out, I had some weird benign pituitary gland tumor that inhibited ovulation. Other levels were off for both of us, and we received treatment for those things.

However, the numbers are still not where they’d need to be for IUI (intrauterine insemination). We are only eligible for IVF (in vitro fertilization). The latter is *thousands* of dollars more expensive.

I’ve heard from parents who’ve gone through IVF who say that it’s worth it to try. Since the clinic now has their own embryo bank, the promotional quote for up to the end of December is 20% off at $13,000. After December, the cost is $16,500. It’s a lot of money for most people, but especially so for two public school teachers.

And so, we’re asking for donations from anyone who knows and loves us to help us continue this journey and potentially make it successful.
