Shanta Sheoprasad is our beautiful 38 year old cousin. Of the years we’ve spent together Shanta is always known to be a nurturing and selfless person. In October of 2009, as her life bloomed with marriage, happiness, and many dreams for the future, our dear cousin was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After three different set of Chemotherapy, we are seeking an alternative treatment for Shanta at the Hope 4 Cancer and Oasis of Hope institution. Shanta is a fighter; she has the strongest faith and believes that God will help her have another shot at life. We as a family are asking for your help in donating towards her treatment cost. We are aiming to raise approximately $40,000 so that Shanta can get the help she needs.
After her diagnosis, she went through the painful lumpectomy surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy. In April of 2010, while Shanta was fighting her battle, she received the devastating news of the death of her beloved husband. Over the years Shanta has grown stronger and started to return to her normal life, until March of 2013 when another tragedy struck and she diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Once again Shanta had to go through the dreadful processes of two surgeries and chemotherapy. During these treatments her body has become weak and unable to fight back. It is heartbreaking to watch your love one go through such agony.
Recently, in September of 2015 Shanta faced the unbearable news that the cancer has returned. This is causing her long nights of intense stomach pains and nausea. We have spent sleepless nights at the emergency room, hoping that something other than chemotherapy can be done for her because of the severe harm that the Chemotherapy is done my to her body.
