Hi my name is Riley stump I am 13 yrs old and am the son of Bobby and Tracie Stump of Crook, Colorado. I have a medical condition called Pectus Excavatum or in other words I look like I have a bowl or a hole in my chest.  All summer long while playing baseball I had terrible pains under my shoulder blades and my neck felt really wierd, my mom also started realizing how bad my posture was getting. Ive been to many doctors and they kept saying I had pulled muscles but I never got better, finally my mom was so frusterated she began searching on the inet for help. She found Pectus Services, she posted a comment and within a few minutes help was calling a guy named Joe with Pectus Services helped us find the chest deformity drs in Denver Colorado it was nice to finally hear what the problem is. After tests we found out that my strnum is caving in and causing compression on my heart and lung. I need the nuss procedure to fix it. The drs tried to get it approved through insurance but they keep denying it we also found that Denver did not measure the haller index correctly along with other descrepencies on cat scan. Finally my mom would take me to one of the best pectus drs in the world in Phoenix Az. They explained to me and my mom without the surgery things will get worse. They also said my heart is compressed and shifting to left and pressing on my lung. As I grow it will get worse and cause more health issues. Im already getting lots of respitory infections because of it and am exhausted. Me and my family are trying to raise money to help me get the surgery i need to get well. With insurance denying the surgery my family cant afford the surgery.
