Hope for Pika

Meet Pika...She is a three week old kitten that has struggle for her entire life...until now. It was pouring rain as I was driving down a local highway when in front of me I thought I saw discarded clothing..as I approached the soaking wet ball...two blue eyes looked right into mine. When I realized it was a kitten, I pulled over and stopped traffic on the three lane highway..people were honking and screaming for me to get out of the road and all I could do was hope no one would hit her. A huge red pickup truck finally stopped and blocked the road. I was able to grab her and run back to my car. Luckily I had a towel to wrap her in to try and get her warm and dry. With the help of my friends and a cat rescue I was able to get the right food and flea treatment for her. The rescue was full and was not able to help with fostering so I took her home. The next day when we woke Pika had a puddle of blood in her pen. I rushed her to the vet where they said she had probably bruised her bladder from the fall. I questioned the "fall" and the vet said her injuries were consistent with being thrown from a moving vehicle. Tears welled in my eyes. This poor kitten had such a rough beginning. The vet noticed her limping and asked if I would be willing to pay for X-Rays. I didn't think twice and agreed. Pika was taken back and when they returned with her and the X-Rays the prognosis was not good. Her leg needs to be amputated. Please..help me give hope to Pika. All funds will go towards her $1,700 amputation surgery. This covers all fees, bloodwork, and medication. The surgery is scheduled for a later date because the bloodwork came back and Pika is anemic as a result of the flea infestation. I am taking care of her right now, getting her stronger with medication, vitamins, and the best food I could afford. I would love to have the funds raised as soon as possible to pay for her surgery which is scheduled for June 10th. Please give hope to Pika and donate! Every dollar helps!
