This is Nenad & this is his story.
Nenad was born on he 31st of March 2014 . Straight after he was born it was noticed that something was seriously wrong. Nenad was born with a rare birth defect. He was born without his oesophagus (the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach).
Nenad is unable to swallow or feed normally and has a feeding tube in place. The food that is placed in his feeding tubes has been very expensive for his family who have had to sell many personal items in order to ensure their son is fed & kept healthy. There have been many scary trips to the hospital which is a 3.5 hour drive for the family. It was only a few weeks ago where Nenad was getting fed and his family noticed something was wrong. He was rushed to the hospital as the feeding tubes balloon had ruptured and a new feeding tube had to be put in.
Nenad has been through so much already and he isn't even 9 months old. If Nenad were to put something in his mouth and swallow something it could be fatal. He has had a number of operations to try and make his life easier for him and in April 2015 he will be given a chance to have his life changed forever. A chance to be able to taste food and swallow for the first time. A chance to be like a normal boy. Although his journey from there will still be a struggle, it will change his life for the better. This is where I need your help so this little boy can have surgery. The surgery will cost anywhere up to $90,000 and without the help of others this surgery will not be possible. Nenad's digestion, nutrition & breathing is compromised, creating a life threatening condition. Infants with this condition need surgery as soon as possible.
Any donation whether it is $5 or $50 is greatly appreciated. if we cannot help raise the required amount then his family will have to sell the family home which will still not be enough for surgery. Please share Nenad's story & help provide hope for this little boy.
