Hi, my name is Lexie. I am 12 years old, and I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 7. What is scoliosis, you might ask? Scoliosis is a curve in the spine. My curve was 31 degrees when I was diagnosed, and because of my back brace and the amazing doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital, my curve has now gone down to 15 degrees! 


This charity is to raise money so that I can give Higgy Bears to the other children at Boston Children’s Hospital. A Higgy Bear is a small stuffed bear with a scoliosis brace on it. My Higgy Bear matches my exact brace!! When I was 7 and got diagnosed with something with such a long name I was very scared.My Higgy Bear made me feel like I was not alone because it has a back brace too! I want to spread the feeling of not being alone going through this to kids that might also be terrified.



The reason I am trying to raise so much money is because Higgy Bears don’t just fall from the sky, (though that would definitely be cool!!) My goal is to donate 100 Higgy Bears to Boston Children’s Hospital to help children getting scoliosis braces feel more comfortable with this experience! Each bear costs $30 so I need to raise $3000 to donate 100 bears (updated). I hope you consider donating because I could use your help to make these kids feel better.
