Help Children With Sickle Cell Disease Access Care in Kenya

Donation protected
This campaign began during Christmas as a simple act of hope. A hope for children living with sickle cell disease in Western Kenya , children whose lives are shaped by pain that arrives without warning, interrupts school, steals sleep, and turns ordinary moments into medical emergencies.

But for these children the need for care does not end with the holidays. Sickle cell disease is not a moment. It is a daily reality. And for parents like those we seek to support, it is a daily fight against pain, fear, and impossible choices: buy food, pay rent, or afford the medication that keeps their child alive?

For Beatrice Oswe, these are not distant stories. She grew up witnessing the panic when medicine runs out, the exhaustion of caregivers, and the heartbreak of watching children miss out on life simply because medical care is out of reach.

This is why Beatrice partnered with Care Aura, a grassroots organisation in Kenya, to launch this medical fundraiser for children with sickle cell. Together, we are ensuring that no child is left to face this journey alone.

Meet the Children You Can Help

• Jayden is a gentle seven-year-old raised by his father since infancy. His father works tirelessly to manage Jayden’s medication and nutrition, hoping for a future where his son knows more stability than pain.

• Brittany is nine, bright and determined. Despite frequent illness, she remains at the top of her class. Her grandmother, a teacher raising six grandchildren, gives everything she has to keep Brittany healthy and learning.

• Dannika is five, imaginative and hopeful. She dreams of becoming a doctor, even as her mother watches over her hospital bed, holding onto the belief that her daughter’s future can be brighter than her present.
These three children represent over 50 families waiting for our support.

Your Donation Delivers Real Impact

Sickle cell disease is manageable with the right care. Without it, children face a lifetime of suffering. Your donation helps us bridge the gap between what these families have and what they desperately need.

• £20 provides ONE MONTH of daily medication to prevent pain crises, reduce hospital visits, and keep a child in school. That is less than 70p a day to change a life.

• £60 provides ANNUAL MEDICAL COVER, granting a child access to diagnostics and follow-up care that would otherwise be impossible.

• £70 covers an EMERGENCY HOSPITAL VISIT when severe pain or infection strikes, providing life-saving care at the moment it matters most.

£20 is a small act for us. For a mother like Dannika’s mother, it is the difference between watching her child suffer and watching her child dream.

Why Your Support Matters Right Now

In Western Kenya, families often delay treatment for children with sickle cell disease, not because they want to, but because they simply cannot afford it. Without consistent medication, children face preventable pain, repeated emergencies, and a future stolen by a manageable disease.
We are asking for your help to change that.
