Hope for Orphans and Widows in Kenya – Help Us Make a Difference

My name is Jose Parra, and I’ve recently returned from Kenya, where I witnessed firsthand the courage, resilience, and deep need of a community led by Bishop Sebastian—a faithful man who has dedicated his life to caring for over 200 widows and orphans.

Bishop Sebastian oversees two orphanages in a remote region of Kenya. These homes are overflowing with compassion, laughter, and faith, despite heartbreaking conditions. Currently, they lease the land where they live, which limits their ability to improve their situation and build a sustainable future. One of their greatest needs—and dreams—is to purchase their own land.

Why is this so critical?

Owning land would allow them to dig a well, giving them reliable access to clean drinking water instead of relying on a contaminated nearby creek (see photos).

They would be able to cultivate and farm their land, growing their own food and reducing dependence on costly outside resources.

They could finally begin to build permanent housing, schools, and other essentials for the orphans and widows they serve.

Right now, they are surviving on very little—yet they still manage to provide food, shelter, and love to more than 200 women and children. But they need help. Your help.

We’re raising funds to provide:

Food and clean water

Clothing

School supplies for the children

A permanent piece of land for housing, farming, and stability

A water well for safe, daily access to drinking water

I created this GoFundMe not out of pity, but out of hope and love. No child should grow up hungry. No mother should wonder if tomorrow’s water will make her family sick.
