One ife Church Taree
(and on behalf of the Taree Mininsters' Association)
Hi my name is John Parer, my wife, Mary-Ann, and I have been the Pastors of One Life Church and Hope Shop Community Centre Taree for over 10 years. Before this I was the community pastor at Hope Shop in Port Macquarie from 2009 to 2015.
I have been an active member of the Taree Ministers' Association for over 10 years and will invite other active ministers to help distribute the funds we raise from this campaign.
Over the last six years locals in the Manning Valley have supported each other through the horrific 2019 fires, Covid and the 2021 major flood. In 2019 a local church was the base for Samaritans Purse who rallied volunteers, from the community, to help (with cleaning, fencing and pastoral care) farmers and residents who had lost their homes in fires.
In 2021 teams of people from a variety of churches, and other organisations, spent weeks supporting broken hearted people with cleaning-up after that devasting flood.
The 2025 flood is worse!
The Manning Valley has over 1000 people in church communities who will be eager to help our locals clean-up. We'd love to have finance to provide food, clothing, goods and vouchers to distribute as soon the waters retreat. We are already giving away items from our op shop.
