Abi Vidal is a single mom with two daughters. Audrey the oldest is 22 and will graduate this May from San Jose State with a degree in education & child development. Angelica is 16 and a sophomore in high school who has a passion for playing soccer. Five years ago Abi was diagnosed with liver scars, cirrhosis and a blood disorder. At that time, she made serious changes to her life style following what doctors said would help her avoid any future complications. Though all their advice and her efforts, she will now require a liver transplant to survive.
Throughout last year she was in & out of the hospital needing frequent blood transfusion, During this time the doctors did not consider her a serious candidate for a liver transplant, which left her on the waiting list. On December 24 she was admitted for blood transfusion and caught pneumonia, from there her condition worsened.
In February this year she was admitted at Kaiser for a week needing another blood transfusion and while there they discovered her liver count was so low that her doctor finally advised her that she must have a liver transplant. At that point she was put on disability from work (she was still working to support her family) so she could focus on getting strong enough to be a candidate for liver transplant at UCSF
For almost two months she was fighting to get healthier while waiting for a call from UCSF, that call came setting up an appointment for her on April 17th,but on April 14th she was rushed to Kaiser to get yet another blood transfusion which resulted in her being admitted on Saturday morning at 11:00am to the ICU. She developed internal bleeding in her stomach, and after a risky procedure the doctors were able to stop the bleeding. She was then admitted back to the ICU with ventilation tubes fighting for her life. At one point the doctors allowed her family to visit her which could have been the last time. She is still in ICU fighting to get strong enough to get the liver transplant that is awaiting for her at UCSF.
Her daughters are asking that people join in prayer for their family. They know that God can perform miracles.
The family is asking for any support to raise funds for her two daughters as their mom fights to live and get stronger in the hope she will get the chance for a liver transplant. Any donation in the form of prayer or amount is appreciated.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of their hearts.
