In Memory of Hope Lee Ann Graves (Stanfield)
Don protégé
It is with great sadness that I write this request to all of you. I have been trying for hours to find the right words to tell the story of my sister in law Hope Graves, but I don’t have them. She tragically lost her battle with addiction yesterday morning. Because of her long struggle with her illness she did not have any life insurance and we are scrambling to try and give her a proper farewell.
I wish that I could add personal stories of her life and what an amazing person she was. The truth is by the time I joined her family she was well and truly in the cold grip of her disease. My hope is that as a community we can come together and remember she was not her addiction or the things it made her into. She was a much loved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Throughout the day I have gotten to hear a few remembered moments about Hope, and I will try to add some of those so we can all get to know who she truly would have been if her demons had not won.
We are not looking to do any fancy and even that is a struggle in these times. I ask that if you can please help us out with a donation for final expenses. Your gifts will be used to pay for her cremation, urns, and flowers for her memorial. Any extra gifts will be paid forward to another family struggling with the loss of addiction.
