My name is Kosi, and this is Roxy. She’s 2 1/2 and the wild child of our little family. Roxy is the kind of dog that turns heads — a total diva, full of attitude and love. She’s playful, loyal, and has always been the “pretty girl” who lights up our home.
A few weeks ago, Roxy suddenly got sick, struggling to breathe and losing energy almost overnight. When antibiotics didn’t help we found ourselves at the Emergency Vet and learned she has blastomycosis, a rare and dangerous fungal infection that attacked her lungs and sinuses. She’s now in the Intensive Care Unit at the University of Tennessee Veterinary Hospital, on oxygen and multiple medications including antibiotics, steroids, and antifungals.
The doctors say she’s improving — but she’s not out of the woods yet. She needs extensive critical care, monitoring, and medication to survive and heal. So far her bills have already reached around $6,000 and it’s still climbing. I’m doing everything I can — selling what I can, cutting back, trying to find help — but as a single mom, the costs are quickly becoming more than I can carry alone.
Roxy has been my rock through some of the hardest times of my life. She’s not just my dog — she’s family. She’s protected me and my daughter more times than I can count, always sensing when something wasn’t right, always putting herself between us and the world. She’s my baby just as much as my daughter. I’m doing everything I can to give her the chance she deserves.
Every bit of help, every prayer, every share means more than words can say. All I want is to bring her home, safe, warm, and breathing easy again, right where she belongs — with her family who loves her beyond measure.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
– Kosi & Annie
