On October 10th, we received news that no family ever wants to hear: Mayson was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive soft tissue sarcoma in his abdomen. In that moment, everything changed. As we've processed this diagnosis and begun treatment, one thing has become crystal clear—Mayson is incredibly strong, and he's not facing this alone. With the support of an amazing medical team and a community like you, we truly believe he's going to beat this.
The Road Ahead
Mayson has already begun an intensive 42-week chemotherapy treatment plan at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa. Each week, he'll receive treatment requiring an overnight hospital stay. At week 13, radiation therapy will begin alongside his chemotherapy. His tumor currently measures 13 x 10 x 10 cm, which means surgery isn't possible yet—but once the chemotherapy works its magic and shrinks the tumor, surgery will follow.
How You Can Help
This journey means Mayson will miss significant time at school, and the financial impact on our family is substantial. Funds raised will help cover:
*Certified home school teachers to keep Mayson's education on track during treatment.
*Out-of-pocket insurance costs that add up quickly with specialized care.
*Medication copays for his treatment regimen.
*Income replacement for missed work during hospital stays and care
A Note of Hope
While this diagnosis is serious, we're facing it with determination and hope. Mayson is surrounded by an incredible medical team, a loving family, and now—thanks to you—a community that cares. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to the day when Mayson can ring that bell and celebrate being cancer-free.
We're grateful beyond words for your support, your prayers, and your generosity during this challenging time. Thank you for being part of Mayson's healing journey.
