In in beautifully written words of Christine Currie:
Most days we want what most people want - we want our children to be safe and happy. We want what's best for them, and we do what we can do be good parents. We love each other, and we value hard work and kindness. We get excited about vacation, sports, our home, being together, and providing what we can to have our kids reach their potential.
When Jason and I were young, me a little girl with big teeth, big feet, and terrible hair in a little town in Kansas trusted Jesus for eternal life. Jason, a cute little guy in Michigan did the same thing. Through the Bible we know with 100% confidence that eternal life comes not through going to church, or our good out-weighing the bad - it comes through what Jesus did on the cross for our sins. He paid for everything. It costs us nothing. By simply putting our faith in Him and HIM ALONE, our eternity is secure, we will live for all eternity with Christ in heaven. And here on earth, we have the power of Jesus inside us, we have a loving relationship with the one and only God who created this world and created us.
Until we meet Him face to face, there is pain here on this earth - everyone knows that. But for those of us that have put our faith in Jesus, we have a hope that transcends the pain of this world...and not only the pain, but it's beyond better than the greatest joy that this world can muster up. There are no words to accurately describe the freedom that comes through Jesus. There is no fear with Jesus. I have many regrets throughout my life...the biggest being that I don't always represent Jesus well - I have acted out of pride, insecurity, and selfishness. I am so grateful for the grace and forgiveness that the Father lavishes on me!
For the past 8 days I have been thinking non-stop about the overwhelming power and love that we live in, through Jesus. Jason and I have also spent the last 8 days sitting through doctors appointments, 3 MRI's, two CT scans, and a biopsy. Three years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, and we now know that the cancer has returned, it is all through out my spine, my hips, my lungs, and liver. Stage 4.
Will you join us in the hope we have in Jesus? If you haven't put your faith in Jesus for eternal life would you consider doing that - today? Will you join us in praying for God's best for my life - and for our family? We know He can heal me, but we also know that death is inevitable, and what matters most that that we become His child so that no matter what happens here on earth, our FOREVER is secure. We are asking God for a miracle, but there is no greater miracle than the one He has already granted us. HOPE. We need an army of prayer warriors to carry us, and our family from what truly feels impossible. There are moments of fear, LOTS of tears, I hate goodbyes...but in the end in the end in the end...OUR HOPE IS IN JESUS.
Philippians 1:18-21..What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
At this time, we ask is for your prayer for us for HEALING, for WISDOM as we seek treatment options, and for COURAGE to walk through this in a way that honors our LORD. We will try to keep everyone updated as best as we can.
