A Journey of Hope and Healing for Alisa

This page is dedicated to Alisa’s courageous journey—a fight for life, hope, and healing as she prepares for an upcoming stem cell transplant.

Since her diagnosis of Myelofibrosis in the summer of 2021, we have been deeply moved by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support we've received over the past three and a half years.

Alisa is now preparing for admission to the VGH Cancer Center, where she will undergo intensive conditioning treatment followed by a stem cell transplant. The recovery process typically spans from 6-12 months, with 100 days requiring her to stay close to the hospital and have 24-hour care once discharged.

Today, we are reaching out not only for your continued prayers for Alisa’s strength and healing, but also for financial support to help cover the many costs associated with this journey—childcare, travel, lodging, and household assistance.

Alisa is the devoted full-time caregiver to her two young children and leads an equestrian vaulting club. While we are incredibly thankful for the volunteers helping during this time, the additional monthly cost for childcare and farm support is estimated at $1,400 per month. Travel and lodging expenses are expected to total around $2,000 per month.

UPDATE October 2025:

It has been over 3 months since Alisa’s first stem cell donation and to say she’s endured a lot is an understatement. The gift of a second transplant and incredible care by the doctors and nurses at VGH, have brought us so much hope, as Alisa continues to battle various complications.

Throughout this time, we have been so grateful for the generous gifts of food, financial support, help around the farm, and an abundance of prayers and well wishes, which leaves our cups full with so much love. We can’t thank you enough for being with us on this journey
