Hope is in SIGHT
Hi,
My name is Elizabeth Hurtado Reyes and I’d like to share with you why my son and I believe there is hope in sight. Many of you that know me remember the night my two year old son was near death having been shot in the back of the head.
Adrian Reyes is seeking a new lease on life and I humbly request any assistance; donations, prayers, sharing of our story or all, which will be greatly appreciated.
On March 14, 1988, in Palmdale CA, Adrian was shot in the brain (back of his head) hitting optical nerves that would leave him legally blind. Initially, Palmdale hospital made an assessment that he wasn’t going to make it, but offered a last ditch effort by medi-vac’ing him via helicopter to Los Angeles Children’s’ Hospital. He remained in a coma for several weeks and eventually underwent rehabilitation to learn to walk again.
Despite severe challenges faced by persons who experience loss of sight, Adrian has continued to persevere in order to do the best he could given these circumstances.
After years of suffering his pain, Adrian was blessed and came to the realization that God had given him a 2nd chance after surviving the shooting and he turned his life around.
Adrian earned his Associates of Science in Sports Rehab Therapy in 2014, is a certified Massage Therapist, and as a man of God - volunteers his spare time at Freedom City Church in Whittier CA.
Adrian has faith that the doctors’ recommendations throughout the years are about to come to fruition. Recently he has decided to collaborate with Revive a Cell Biotechnology company, who can provide stem-cell treatments. Adrian has been evaluated by Revive a Cell Biotechnology via medical records and photos and it’s been determined that he is an excellent candidate because his sight is restorable.
Despite his willingness and desire to undergo treatment, he faces one main obstacle - finances. I know that our goal amount may seem high however, each treatment is approximately $6,000. Originally we hoped that he would need 3-6 treatments, however with the amount of scar tissue found during his initial MRI we can’t be sure how many total treatments he will need. Adrian has completed one treatment so far which he paid for out of pocket. However in order to continue uninterrupted treatments we are asking for financial assistance from our loved ones, friends and family and those they know. It is with all humbleness that I pray in my heart you’ll support our fundraising efforts either by donating, praying, or sharing our story with others. Please help Adrian’s dream come true to have the ability to regain sight so that he may continue to grow and succeed independently without limitations.
We thank you in advance for your consideration.
