Friends, our fellow Panther, Kim Riley Petersen's daughter Julianna "Jules" Durden, is in the hospital fighting for her life with pneumonia, septic shock and Covid in California, where she lives. Jules is the daughter of our classmate Tim Durden as well.

Jules is in ICU and has been on a ventilator for 2+ weeks. She has failed multiple extubation attempts and is still strongly sedated. She received a tracheotomy yesterday, hoping this will help wean her from the ventilator. Currently, there are strong concerns of neurological issues. We will know more once Jules can be woken up and weaned from the ventilator.

Jules is also the mother to precious two-year-old Gemma, who is asking for her Mommy. Kim, who recently lost her job, is in California to help care for Gemma and be by her daughter's side. Kim spent the first 6 days at Jules' bedside but then Jules tested positive for Covid. Because of Covid protocols, she has been unable to be with her daughter for 10 days. They're praying that today, Day 10, since she tested positive, she will test negative, so that Kim can again be by her side.

Friends, all that Kim has asked for are prayers for her girl. So let's show up and show out with Forest Park pride and help our fellow classmate. The monies donated will go directly to Kim for Jules' care and bills. Jules will need rehabilitation, will have mounting medical bills and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, not to mention our friend, Kim leaving home to go care for her.
