Hope, Help, and Healing for Baby Claire
Donation protected
Time Will Tell: Please keep this answer in mind while reading about this beautiful baby, Claire Estelle.
In her 5 months of life, Claire has already changed so many other lives. People from three church communities, a staff of nurses, and extended family have already reached out in emotional support, blood donations, and with prayers. This outpouring of love gives the family hope that one day, in her own time, Claire may lead a healthy life.
On March 29, 2022, Claire went into the hospital for a routine check-up and was admitted to the ICU instead. In the weeks that followed, Claire survived a blood transfusion and major heart by-pass surgery to close two holes and an extra valve. Her heart problem was just a harbinger of a much larger issue. Claire has a rare genetic disorder (roughly affecting 1 out of every 100,000 people) called deletion of chromosome 4q21q22.
What effect does this genetic disorder have on Claire's body? Only time will tell, but this chromosomal deletion is indicative of delays in development, anatomical anomalies, and interrupted function of all major body systems, including the heart and brain.
Even in her "deletion," Claire is remarkable. True to her name, our clear star shines bright in her strength, inner beauty, and angelic glow that reminds people every day what it means to be one of God's chosen little ones.
Her deletion, however, will not define her. Her family is determined to not write off Claire's destiny. However, only time will tell the life Claire will lead.
A determined fighter, Claire has been gaining weight and is steadily progressing. Still, she continues to endure numerous tests and probes while doctors search for answers that will only come with time.

Is there a cure for Claire? Currently, there isn't. Management of her condition is on a case-by-case basis and only time will tell if advances in genetic engineering can somehow help Claire and other children in similar situations. A donation from you is an investment for not only Claire, but for the children in the future who might benefit from further studies in genetics.
We know the road to recovery and support for her will be long and there are many unknowns. Because of these unknowns, we may sometimes lose hope or fail to see the brilliant light in her eyes and in her smile. She is a living reminder of what it means to be pure and trust in God's providence.
Claire's family does not know the extent of the medical bills, nor the type of care Claire will need moving forward. Only time will tell how the family can best use these funds, but they plan on getting Claire specialized childcare as well as donating a portion of these funds to genetics research.

The family asks for continued prayers and your donations to help lessen the financial stress of multiple months at Children's Hospital. Together we can make a difference! Together we will surround Claire, her brother, and her family with love and light.
