On August 19, our lives changed in an instant when my brother, Nick, suffered sudden cardiac arrest. Thanks to the fast response of his wife Syndle, medical teams and the grace of God, he is still with us today. While we are incredibly grateful he survived, the road to recovery is long and uncertain.

Right now, he remains in the hospital receiving intensive care. Recovery from a cardiac arrest takes weeks, months, or longer, depending on how the heart and brain heal. As you can imagine, the financial burden ahead will be overwhelming — from medical expenses to everyday costs of keeping life stable for the kids. Unfortunately, due to limited PTO and no short term disability coverage offered by his employer, he will have no income for the forseeable future.

We are raising money to help bridge the gap for Syndle and the boys (Dawson, 3 and Hunter, 11 months) while Nick recovers. Your support will go toward:

• Covering household expenses while Syndle balances caring for the boys and being by his side

• Offsetting the mounting medical and rehabilitation costs as he begins the long journey back to health
