A friend of mine is facing an unexpected challenge with her sweet baby girl! We know that God has got sweet Scottie, Dayton & Titus as well but anything that you’re able to donate would help them tremendously! Dayton has already had to miss her son’s first day of school & currently the future is to be determined. This all happened so unexpectedly & until I can personally do more, I’d love to be able to raise funds to make things a little easier for her!
Anything donated goes directly to Dayton! I do respectfully ask that during this time please be respectful of Dayton by understanding that she does not have the time to respond to every message promptly. I know we are all worried about sweet Scottie but I also ask that you please keep your check-ins to only messages at this time, no phone calls!
I will post the most recent update from 8/7 below!
Scottie has a large cervical spinal mass (tumor) that starts at the front left of her spine/neck, it is wrapped around tightly & going down her spinal column, severely compressing her spinal cord. She does not have any movement in her arms, and minimal in her legs. She does have feeling in them, but muscle weakness/no muscle control.
The (now stepped down Chief) Neurosurgeon, Dr. Blount, did take a sample of the tumor yesterday, and they were able to confirm the tumor is cancerous. After discussing the results of the biopsy with Oncology, they have diagnosed it as Neuroblastoma.
Scottie started her first chemotherapy treatment last night for preventative measures & to see how the tumor responds, and still has more testing/imaging to be done today.
This is as much clear information that I can provide at this time. It’s unclear how long we will be at Children’s Hospital, or any questions regarding the time duration or amount of chemotherapy sessions needed. We do know we will be here at least another week. They want to monitor her for at least 2 full treatments.
Prayers are very much needed & so appreciated at this time!
We are currently in room 726 at Childrens Hospital in Birmingham. If anyone would like to send a bright balloon, flowers, a sweet card, or anything to cheer Scottie up. We may be moved to a different room, depending on how the tests/imaging goes today, but I will post an update on the room number if that is the case.
Thank you in advanced for respecting their privacy, and for all of the love! ❤️
