Hope & Healing for the Joiner Family
On July 27, 2017, Jill Joiner's life was turned upside down. She was right in the middle of "Meet the Teacher" in an Oconee County elementary school when she received a phone call that her husband, John, had experienced a terrible fall where he worked at Habitat for Humanity. They would later find out that John suffered a TBI (severe head injury). Immediately following the accident, John began experiencing excruciating headaches, short term memory loss, confusion, and seizures which has often resulted in hospitalization and time spent in the ICU several times a year.
John went for almost two years before being able to draw money from the Workers Compensation program. This loss of income in combination with massive medical bills has caused a debt that the Joiner family cannot possibly pay off themselves. Jill says that not only would your help bless her and John, but also her parents (David and Judy Carter) who have been right there beside her while she takes care of her husband and juggles the everyday life of being a long-term caregiver. Jill is so humbly appreciative of anything you are willing to give. Let's remind John and Jill that our God is bigger than that mountain of bills and that He is with them every minute of everyday...even in the midst of life's struggles.
The good news is that John has recently been able to become part of the Social Security and Medicare programs. Unfortunately, moving forward is tough when your financial burden is so heavy. Please consider giving to this precious family so that they might find financial peace and hope in a brighter future!
Jill's life verse has become Psalm 23:2
"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside still waters. He refreshes my soul."
