Support Mellissa’s Battle Against Breast Cancer

Hi everyone,

We are reaching out to ask for your love, prayers, and support for our dear friend, Mellissa.

Mellissa was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, an aggressive form of breast

cancer that has been spreading. Her diagnosis has turned her life upside down, and she is now

facing an incredibly difficult treatment journey that will take more than a year to complete.

Mellissa’s Treatment Journey

Mellissa has already begun an extremely intensive treatment plan.

Her first stage involves 6 rounds of chemotherapy, with treatments taking place every three

weeks. Each treatment is essentially a full day at the hospital and involves two chemotherapy

medications and two immunotherapy medications. She also receives an injection the day after

treatment to help support her body through the effects of chemotherapy.

After these initial treatments, Mellissa is expected to undergo surgery, including a double

mastectomy to remove the affected breast tissue and tumors.

Unfortunately, her treatment does not end there. Following surgery, she is expected to have

another 16 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by additional treatment as recommended by her

medical team.

Mellissa has now had her first treatment, and she is already experiencing significant pain and

the difficult side effects of chemotherapy, including losing her hair. This is only the beginning of

what will be a very long and physically demanding road.

Why We Need Your Help

Fighting cancer is exhausting physically, emotionally, and financially. On top of everything she is

going through medically, Mellissa recently had to move into a new apartment that is clean and

safe enough for her to recover in.

Unfortunately, the rent costs most of her monthly income. At the same time, cancer treatment

brings many additional expenses, including medications, transportation, appointments,

supportive care, and other costs that may not be fully covered by insurance

We want Mellissa to be able to focus her energy on getting through treatment and fighting this

disease, rather than worrying about whether she will be able to afford her home and basic

necessities.
