Hope, Healing and Help! Miles for Omaha!

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out for support during a difficult and uncertain time for our family. My daughter had a cochlear implant placed last April, but unfortunately, the device has recently stopped functioning. Since then, she has been experiencing significant pain and tenderness around the implant site, along with frequent headaches and dizziness and she explains she can hear and feel the sound of fluid by the implant! During our local office visit she was placed on antibiotics has had a CT of the implant site and will have further future testing ahead.

We had to make an emergency trip to Omaha two weeks ago to see her surgeon, and we’ve already had to purchase a replacement device. She has more testing scheduled this Monday, with two additional trips to Omaha planned for further tests and follow-up with her surgical team.

All of this has meant unexpected expenses—gas, food, overnight stays, and time off work. I recently had to replace my tires and get a vehicle alignment just to ensure we can make these important medical trips safely. It’s been financially overwhelming.
