My name is Denise Drop. Recently, my entire world has been shaken to the core, as my only child, my son Rich, has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer. This type of cancer is not only painful, but the course of treatment is aggressive.
Rich is receiving both chemotherapy and radiation treatment; we are in our 6th full week of chemo and 2nd stage of radiation treatment. Rich will be receiving treatment for several months.
Prior to the cancer diagnosis and ongoing chemotherapy treatment, my son Rich had to undergo two very serious surgeries on his spine, which are related to the cancer. The surgeries took place at the beginning of October. Rich had to be hospitalized for 21 days. While Rich is recovering from the surgeries, he is also learning how to walk again.
As a senior on a fixed income, living in Mexico, I urgently need help to temporarily relocate to Palm Springs for the next 12 months, to be with him during this critical phase of treatment and recovery. Family support is crucial for cancer patients, not just in assisting with daily tasks, but for their emotional and spiritual well-being. I will only be able to relocate with the help of others.
Rich has a long road and journey ahead of him, and my mother’s heart is to be there with my son, walking step by step, as we battle his cancer together.
My goal is to raise $27,500.00 to offset housing, utilities, transportation, etc., while I am supporting my son through his treatment and recovery. I cannot do this on my own; this mom needs help. Will you please prayerfully consider helping us during this health crisis? Any little bit will help.
I want to thank those of you who have already reached out with finances, words of encouragement, and prayers. “Carry each other’s burdens…”— Galatians 6:2
