Hope Has a Name: Join the Heart of Haiti Mission

My name is Jamie Merilien, and 24 years ago, my family and I stepped off a plane from Haiti with nothing but faith in our hearts and hope in our hands.
I didn’t know much about America. I didn’t speak the language. I didn’t have connections or a plan. But I had God, and that was enough. He led me, provided for me, and over the years, He helped me build a life, a family, and a testimony.
And now, after all this time, He’s calling me back.
Back to serve the people I came from.
Back to be a voice for the voiceless.
Back to help those who are now walking the very road I once traveled.
Heart of Haiti is not just a project, it’s a promise I made to God:
If you ever bless me, I’ll go back and bless others.
That time is now.
In the heart of Albertville, Alabama, Haitian families are arriving with the same fears, language barriers, and struggles I once faced. And through Heart of Haiti, we’re creating a space for them to be seen, helped, and loved.
We’ll provide:
- Transportation to work, school, and appointments
- ️ Food, clothing, and essential items
- ️ Translation and advocacy for immigrant families
- Life skills, financial literacy, housing education, and entrepreneurship training
- Most of all, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the message that changed my life
We are praying and believing in God for $250,000 to fully launch this ministry, covering vehicles, staffing, operational costs, outreach, and education.
I’ve seen what God can do with just one “yes.”
Now I’m asking: will you say yes with me?
Whether it’s $10 or $10,000, every seed sown helps us serve a soul.
Every prayer, every share, every act of support builds what Jesus called “the least of these.”
This is more than outreach, it’s worship.
It’s loving people the way Christ loved us first.
It’s going back to the places where we once wept… to bring healing, hope, and home.
Thank you for believing in what God is doing through Heart of Haiti.
Together, we can write a redemption story that only Heaven could have planned.
