Eight months ago, our 10-year-old son Waylon was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
Overnight, life changed—for him and for our entire family. What used to be simple moments now revolve around blood sugar checks, insulin doses, and constant monitoring to keep him safe.
Since his diagnosis, we’ve worked closely with multiple doctors to explore every option available to support his health—not just today, but for his future.
Through that process, we were introduced to something called Stem Cell Educator Therapy.
This therapy is designed to help retrain the immune system. In simple terms, it takes a patient’s white blood cells, exposes them to signals from stem cells, and aims to “re-educate” those cells so they stop attacking the body the way they do in Type 1 diabetes.
While this treatment is not widely available and is still considered an emerging therapy, our son meets the criteria to receive it—and we believe it could offer him a chance at a better, more stable future.
Unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by insurance, and the costs associated with it—including travel and medical expenses—are more than we can manage on our own.
That’s why we are reaching out for help.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply keep our son in your thoughts, it truly means more than we can express. We are doing everything we can to give him the best possible life—and we’re grateful for any support along the way.
