A LETTER FROM OUR CEO (July 20, 2022):

Colleagues & Friends,

I appreciate your pitching in on the Hope for Ukraine fundraiser. You did a wonderful thing. Your contributions meant that displaced refugees were able to receive clothing, food, medical supplies, a warm and safe place to sleep and the ability to care for their children.

I can only imagine the expressions on their faces when they realized you cared enough to get involved and send a donation. We reached our goal, but we still have people who want to share their blessings with the Ukrainian people. Allow me to tell you a bit more about Convoy of Hope. They have a driving passion for feeding the world and have done that since 1994 in a big way. Last year alone, they served 29 million people. Having received the top 4-star rating consecutively since 2002 puts them in the top 1% of charities. They continue to increase transparency to their supporters and direct as many funds as possible to the people they serve. On average, 90% of every dollar goes to helping those in need.

Convoy of Hope’s Disaster Services team is consistently among some of the first to respond to disasters at home and around the world. Last year alone, they were some of the first to arrive on the scene and the last to leave 64 disasters and provide more than 17 million pounds of relief supplies, including food, water, medical supplies, hygiene kits, and much more.

Their Ukraine War response has been no different. Convoy of Hope has strategic partnerships in and around Ukraine that existed before The War. These same strategic partnerships allow them to use their network to provide aid to many Ukrainian locations with immediacy.

So far, Convoy of Hope is providing relief in 8 countries, including Ukraine, for their response. Recently they have served over 2.1 million individuals with more than 16 million meals in and around Ukraine. They have sent over 168 containers to Poland alone. Other relief supplies are baby care kits, bottled water, blankets, clothing, diapers, hygiene kits and even toys o help kids cope with trauma. Warehouses have been secured in many locations like Poland, Romania, and Central Ukraine, where supplies are distributed to many communities, including seven metric tons of supplies to the Transcarpathian Region of Ukraine.

We are Metrica, a minority woman-owned small business in San Antonio, Texas, with a worldwide reach. Every day, we support our American government’s efforts around the globe, including in war-torn Ukraine. We have several Ukrainian nationals supporting U.S. Government advisors in Kyiv. They and their fellow Ukrainians need your help. Our forward-based staff in Budapest, Hungary work with counterparts in Ukraine to identify and source needs locally. This war has displaced more than 10 million Ukrainians, and millions more may follow. They are weary and scared, and their needs are so great. Many have only the items they can carry with them.
