Hope for Tracy

Hi, I'm Shanna, Tracy's God daughter and niece. Thank you for visiting "Hope for Tracy".  We are trying to raise money to help Tracy and her family, get through the rough road that has been brought upon them. This family has been through so much over the past few years. You can't even begin to imagine the devastation and heartache. Here is their story...
Their journey started on November 17th, 2011 when Tracy's husband, Mike suffered a stroke. Mike is the sole provider for the couple and times became hard as he started his recovery process. As he was trying to get back on his feet, they were given more bad news. In Feb 2012, Mike went in for a kidney stone and was diagnosed with stage 3 Kidney cancer. In March 2012 Mike underwent surgery to remove his left Kidney. Following that surgery, later on that year in December, Mike went in for a lung biopsy, that showed, yet again, Cancer! This time they placed him at stage 4.  He went in for surgery and had his upper left lung removed and began another long recovery. By the grace of God, currently Mike is cancer free! However, now Mike is suffering from a heart condition that may prompt an open heart surgery. This is pending, until his MRI results are in on Dec 15th. The family is holding out hope, this will not have to happen.
Through the years of Mikes struggles with illness, Tracy was by his side, praying that he would get better so they could add many more years onto, their already, 33 years together. Sadly, as she was celebrating another year of Mike being cancer free, she was given the shock of a lifetime...
In May 2015, Tracy was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.  As you can imagine, she and the family took this news extremely hard.
Tracy began her journey by cutting her long beautiful hair and prepared herself for what lay ahead. She began her course of chemo treatments, took the bull by the horns, and fought through the terrible side effects. She managed to "Race for the Cure" and even dyed (what little hair she had left), PINK. She was determined to fight and was finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Then the unthinkable happened... When Tracy had less than a handfull of chemo treatments left and was planning to schedule her double mastectomy, she became very ill again. She made several trips to the ER, was placed in a rehab facility and is currently hospitalized. Tracy's Dr. was very concerned by her recent symptoms.(falls, numbness and headaches) and ordered an MRI. The results were absolutely devastating. It showed Tracy had a brain tumor and evidence that the Cancer had traveled to the fluids that bath the brain and spinal column. She was given a horrifying diagnosis of leptomeningeal carcinomatous meningitis.
Our family was horrified to hear this news. Unfortunately, this is a rare cancer and there is no cure, so Tracy was placed in terminal status. A couple weeks ago we thought we were going to lose her. She was not doing well at all. Dr's believed that she was nearing the end of her life. However, she has proved them wrong and has begun to set goals for herself. This last hospital stay is going on 4 weeks. She will complete 20 radiation treatments, and several OT & PT sessions along with what she has already endured over the last several months.
Tracy loves her husband and 3 kids, and loves & adores her 5 grandkids. Family is everything to her. She has a heart of gold and would do anything for the ones she loves. She is determined to fight this battle, maintain quality of life and she wishes to do this at home! The only downfall to this is Tracy will require nursing staff to come into the house to help care for her, which brings us to the GoFundMe Fundraising website. We are hoping to raise enough money to help hire the appropiate medical staff to accomodate her needs and take this burden off of her family. In the event that this cant happen, the funds will help with any other necessary medical costs.
Please consider donating to "Hope for Tracy" and help get her back to the comforts of her own home.
No donation is too small to help a family who has been through so much.

Thank You!
