My name is Mary and I’m raising funds for my incredible partner, Tom. We are both 28 years old and parents to the most amazing little boy named Ronnie, who is 4.

Last year, our world was turned upside down when Tom was diagnosed with incurable neuroendocrine tumours in his pancreas and liver. It’s something we never imagined hearing at such a young age. Since then, life has become a cycle of hospital visits, scans, treatments, and trying to stay positive for our son even when things feel terrifying inside.

In England we are told Tom is incurable but after speaking with specialists, we’ve found a treatment option in Germany that offers real hope, something not currently available here in the UK. This treatment could make a life changing difference to Tom and his health, but it comes with huge costs: medical fees, travel, accommodation, and time away from work while he focuses on getting better.

Germany think that immunotherapy will be really beneficial to Tom, Dendritic cell therapy is a type of immunotherapy that helps your own immune system fight cancer. Dendritic cells are special cells in your body whose job is to spot danger and alert your immune system. They act like teachers, showing your immune system what to attack. The aim is to stop progression, stop the spread and even reduce the size of Toms tumours.

Asking for help is one of the hardest things we have ever done. Tom has always been someone who wants to provide for his family, not ask from others. But right now, we can’t do this alone.

All Tom wants is the chance to be here for Ronnie — to watch him grow, to be there for his school days, his first goals, his big moments in life. This fundraiser is about giving him that chance.
