Hope for the Tricketts

I want to start by thanking Eric Casner for creating this GoFundMe for Dan and our family. Dan was in a very bad motorcycle accident Friday evening. The trauma staff wasn’t sure if he’d pull through, and there a few times we thought we’d have to say goodbye to the man we cherish. He has a long, difficult road to recovery ahead. I want to remind you all how special of a man he is and how much he does for others and his community. Dan has been a member of the East Haven vol Fire Dept for many years serving with both Co 6 and Co 1. He was also on the frontlines of the pandemic working as an EMT on an ambulance while still working many hours supporting our family working with his beloved work family at Nucor Steel CT proudly rolling American steel 60 hours a week. He helped organize food drives for families in need of Thanksgiving dinners as well as basic essentials. During Christmas time, he organized a toy drive and even dressed as Santa Claus & cruised around town spreading holiday cheer. And don’t forget The Easter Bunny! Earning him person of the week in our local paper (an honor I know he holds close to his heart)  Dan would give the shirt off his back to help a stranger in need. In his free time he is a proud member of the Raging Knights Firefighter Motorcycle club. Him and his brothers help raise funds for the CT Children’s Burn Camp and other charities in need and with his little remaining free time he helps with charities for our community’s innocent and most vulnerable and helping coach his sons little league teams.  Dan is a caring man but he is a fighter and we know he’ll give this the same hell he gives everything in life. We know times are tough but any help for him and our family would be greatly appreciated as his journey towards rehabilitation is expected to take many months just for him to relearn basic life tasks such as walking. From our family to yours  thank you for helping Iron dad (what the boys are calling him due to all the metal in leg now lol)
