Aloha everyone,

After 26 years of building a life and a home together, our parents, Blake and Haleakala Anakalea, are now facing the unimaginable task of starting over. My sisters and I humbly ask for your help as our parents face the long road ahead to restoration and rebuilding after the devastation caused by Hurricane Lowell.

Currently, their home is unlivable-

this was their first and only home as a married couple, their home where they raised us three girls, the home that held 26 years of treasured memories, love, and countless milestones.

On the night of the storm, the high winds tore the roof off their home- resulting in devastating water damage to almost everything- every room, the ceiling, walls, flooring, carpets, all furniture, appliances, family photos, and other valuables were completely destroyed. Our home is now unlivable.

Over the past few days, they have salvaged what little they could—some clothing, towels, and bedding, boxed these things up and are now facing countless unknowns and an overwhelming number of new challenges.

In the coming months, they will have to search for temporary housing while waiting to find out whether their home can undergo a full rebuild or if they will need to find a new permanent home. They will also need to replace essential furniture, appliances, and many of the everyday items we often take for granted.

Our parents are our role models. They have worked so hard throughout their lives, always extended a helping hand to friends and family, and are battling through the scariest health challenge. This new reality has been incredibly difficult to accept, but we are determined to stand by their side, just as they have always stood by ours.
