Tewaimana's Battle Against Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Aloha everyone,
It’s me once again. I am heart broken as I write this with tears running down my face. My nephew Tewaimana, who will be 9 years old on March 8th, 2024, has been through and overcame so many battles since he was a newborn. My sister Kiele took him in for a routine follow up MRI on December 27th, 2023 which showed a tumor in his brain that grew drastically from the last time he had an MRI which was 5 years ago. On February 14th, 2024 they did a biopsy at Kapiolani Medical Center to check what kind of tumor it was and shortly after he was able to come back home to Molokai. On the morning of February 21st, 2024 my sister took him into the ER here at Molokai General Hospital because he started throwing up and wasn't acting himself. They ended up getting medivac’d out and transferred to Kapiolani Medical Center because there was bleeding in his brain where he had the biopsy. When he got to Kapiolani they weren't too concerned on the bleeding and just wanted to monitor him. On February 22nd, 2024 My sister called me with the most devastating news that my heart could ever bare. She got the biopsy results back and his tumor is a high grade glioma which means it is CANCEROUS! This type of brain cancer is very aggressive and hard to cure. Treatment is already scheduled to be started next week Thursday February 29th, 2024 and he will have to do radiation for 6 weeks. My poor nephew has been through so much it breaks my heart that he is still fighting these battles. My sister Kiele and brother in law Kona are there by his side right now. Which means both of them will be out of work. This has caught us all off guard and with such short notice my sister and brother in law was only able to pack a small bag of clothes to go with them. Also, Tewaimana is the oldest of 4 children, which leaves the other 3 babies back home on Molokai with other family members. Please help my family. We are asking for any monetary donations to help with medical bills, lodging, food, flights, etc.. as we don’t know when he will be able to come back home to Molokai. Any donation whether big or small is appreciated. We also strongly believe in the power of Prayer! Please pray for my ohana during this difficult time. This will also help them while they travel this new path so that he may be the most comfortable as they try to get used to this new “normal” in a world that all of a sudden turned upside down. Aunty loves you Tewaimana! God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers! You got this my boy, you are not alone!
