Please Help a Young Couple Facing a Life-Altering Crisis

On the morning of Thursday, September 4th, my son-in-law was involved in a devastating head-on collision while on his way to work. He had to be life-flighted to Shands Trauma Unit, where doctors discovered extensive injuries, including:

Broken femur in three places and a broken ankle on his right leg

Broken tibia and knee on his left leg

Broken ribs on both sides, a fractured sternum, and a broken scapula

Grade 3 spleen lesion

Severe lung contusions causing extreme difficulty breathing

By Friday, September 5th, his condition worsened, and he became hypoxic, requiring a ventilator. On Saturday, September 6th, he was placed in a medically induced coma.

This morning (Monday, September 8th), he was placed on a lung bypass machine, and doctors found an aneurysm in his spleen. He is scheduled to undergo a splenectomy later today or tomorrow.

This has been every family's nightmare, and it has shattered our world.

Through all of this, his wife—my daughter, Madison—has been by his side, day and night. She has taken time off work to be his advocate and support system, and we all know that’s exactly where she needs to be. Madison and her husband are the definition of a true team—deeply in love, unshakably loyal, and committed to walking through life together.
