Hi, my name is Rebecca Cang Hing. I am the oldest child and the only daughter, and I am raising funds for my mom, my best friend, my protector, and the person who has always put her children before herself. For over two years, my mom has been fighting kidney failure, surviving through dialysis while her health continues to decline.

After years of painful treatments, endless appointments, and exhausting tests, she finally completed all of her medical evaluations and was placed on the kidney transplant waiting list. Doctors told us that if a matching donor had been available, she would already be in surgery. Instead, we are stuck waiting; waiting for a match, waiting for hope, and praying every day that time does not run out.

Watching my mom suffer has been heartbreaking. While waiting for a donor, her health took a sudden turn for the worse. She developed a blood clot in her left arm and needed emergency surgery to save her arm and prevent further damage. Seeing her unable to move, helpless and in pain, is something I will never forget.

Every day, she battles constant headaches so severe they cause her to throw up. She has no appetite, no energy, and struggles to sleep through the night. The woman who once cared for everyone else now struggles to care for herself. At her recent checkups, doctors told us the truth we were terrified to hear she is getting worse, and without a kidney transplant, she will not get better. Her kidneys are failing fast.

As her daughter, it breaks me to feel so helpless. As the oldest, I feel the weight of trying to stay strong not just for my mom, but for my younger brother, who is still so young and constantly worried about losing her. Watching him fear something no child should ever have to face is devastating.

This fundraiser is our plea for help. The funds raised will go toward the costs of locating a kidney donor match, transplant preparation, medical care, medications, and the ongoing expenses that come with this fight. We are doing everything we can, but we cannot do this alone.
