Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help for my brother, Raynan, a 40-year-old international student who is currently facing a serious medical challenge. He has recently been diagnosed with end-stage heart failure and end-stage kidney failure due to untreated diabetes, with his heart functioning at only 24% and his kidneys at just 10%. These conditions require urgent treatment and ongoing care.

As an international student, my brother’s private insurance does not cover all of his medical expenses. The bills are quickly mounting, and while we want to focus on his recovery, the financial burden has become overwhelming, especially since he also needs to provide for his family back in the Philippines.

Raynan is going through an incredibly tough time, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. He has struggled with denial about his condition, but as his symptoms worsen and his body grows weaker, it has become impossible to ignore. He cries almost every night, asking why this is happening to him. He was in the process of obtaining work visa sponsorship, but due to his health, the sponsorship was cancelled, leaving him in distress and losing hope over the past few weeks.

We are asking for your support to help us cover his medical expenses, including dialysis, medications, specialist appointments, and lab tests, so that he can focus on healing without the constant stress of mounting bills. We believe that sending him back to the Philippines won’t help him in his battle. Here in Australia, he has a better chance of achieving a quality of life while on dialysis, and he can still work normally while undergoing treatment. Raynan loves Australia, it is a place for him where he felt wanted, needed and appreciated. It was his biggest achievement in life. Sending him back to the Philippines would likely take away his hope and courage, especially as it’s difficult for him to find a job there to sustain his family’s needs.

Please help us show him that there is still hope. Help him feel that there are people willing to fight alongside him, and remind him that he can still achieve his dreams of providing a better future for his four wonderful children.
