Help Nicholas, Angela, Nova, and Luna Find Stability for the first time in our lives
My name is Nick. I’m a husband and a father to two beautiful little girls, Luna and Nova. I’m writing this because my wife Angie and our family have been going through something that’s honestly been overwhelming, and I don’t know another way to keep pushing forward without asking for help.
My wife has been battling multiple serious chronic illnesses since 2020. Before all of this, she lived a completely normal, active life. Now, even basic daily tasks can be extremely difficult for her.
There was a time when she was mostly bedbound. She relied on a walker, wheelchair, cane, and even oxygen just to get through the day. She went through countless doctor visits, often alone, trying to figure out what was happening to her. She experienced memory loss, confusion, difficulty speaking, and moments where she would lose track of time.
Over the years, she has been diagnosed with several conditions including POTS, Neurocardiogenic Syncope, Dysautonomia, Long COVID, Chronic Lyme Disease, and Adrenal Insufficiency. The Lyme disease hit especially hard because it traces back to a tick bite years earlier that we didn’t realize would lead to something this serious. Treatment is complicated and often not covered, which means most of it comes out of pocket.
When I met Angie, I knew she was dealing with a lot, but I also saw how strong she was. I made the decision early on that I would stand by her no matter what. I started going to appointments with her, helping explain what she goes through, researching doctors, and doing everything I could to support her.
We built our life around love, faith, and pushing forward no matter what.
We were blessed with our daughters, Luna and Nova. They are everything to us.
During her first pregnancy, something amazing happened—her symptoms disappeared completely. For those months, she finally felt like herself again. But after our daughter was born, her symptoms slowly came back.
With our second daughter, things got much more serious. Angie developed gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, and it turned into a life-threatening situation. She had to have an emergency C-section, and we almost lost both her and our daughter. That moment changed everything for me.
Since then, her health has declined again. She has had severe flare-ups and multiple hospital stays, sometimes lasting up to a week. Every time that happens, I have to miss work to take care of our daughters and be there for her. I don’t get paid time off for that, so every hospital visit puts us further behind financially.
On top of everything, we were recently forced to leave our apartment due to toxic black mold. It was making all of us sick, including our baby. We didn’t have a choice—we had to leave immediately.
Since then, we’ve been living in a hotel.
Trying to raise two little girls in a small hotel room while managing serious health issues and financial pressure is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It’s expensive, stressful, and honestly exhausting.
I work as much as I can, and I’m doing everything in my power to build a way out of this. I flip electronics on eBay, I’m building a computer repair business, and I’m working toward creating stable income online. I’m constantly looking for ways to grow and create something sustainable for our family so we’re not stuck in this cycle.
Angie is doing everything she can too, even with her health. She takes care of our daughters every single day, manages all of her medical appointments, and still finds ways to create. She’s working on children’s books, adult books, and coloring books, and she has a bigger vision to build something that helps people who are chronically ill live easier lives.
We are not sitting still. We are trying. Every single day.
But the reality is, the cost of living in a hotel, medical expenses, transportation, food, and basic life needs has made it almost impossible to get ahead. We can’t save enough to secure a safe apartment or get a reliable vehicle, and without those things, it’s hard to even stabilize.
Right now, we also don’t have reliable transportation, which makes getting to medical appointments and emergencies extremely difficult and expensive.
Our goal with this fundraiser is simple: We want to get our family back on stable ground.
The funds will go toward: • Securing a safe apartment for our family
• Getting a reliable used vehicle
• Covering temporary housing and basic living expenses
• Medical and transportation costs
More than anything, I just want my wife to have a chance to heal and be comfortable. I want my daughters to have a safe home. And I want the opportunity to keep building a better future for my family without constantly feeling like we’re one step away from falling apart.
We don’t have a strong support system around us, so asking for help like this is not easy for me. But I’m doing it because my family needs it.
If you can donate or even just share our story, it would mean more than I can put into words.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
