My name is Mosab, I am from Gaza, and I live and work in Bournemouth - England.
My younger brother Ahmed, who lives in the war-torn region of Gaza with his wife, has endured unimaginable horrors over the last seven months as conflict has engulfed their home. Prior to the recent escalation in violence, he worked as a bee farmer, providing a modest but stable income to care for his pregnant wife.
However, as bombing campaigns intensified, he was forced to uproot his family and flee for safety from our family house in Qarara, north of Khan Younis, abandoning his livelihood and leaving the bees to die. Now he has no source of income, and even our family home where he used to live was reduced to rubble in an airstrike.
With nowhere left to turn, my brother and his wife now subsist in an overcrowded, makeshift refugee camp in Mawasi, struggling daily to secure basic necessities like food, clean water, and clothing. The cramped conditions and lack of sanitation pose grave risks to his wife's health as she nears her delivery date. Meanwhile, the constant threat of widespread military offensives keeps them in a state of fear and uncertainty. After seven gruelling months of enduring the horrors of war and deprivation, my brother has made the difficult decision that their only chance for survival is to escape from Gaza to Egypt until the violence wanes. I have started this fundraiser on his behalf to provide the financial means for his family to pay for basic living expenses and safe passage out of Gaza.
The fees required to cross the border into Egypt would be paid to Hala in Rafah are total of $10,000 USD or £8,000 Sterling Pounds needed to secure the permits to leave Gaza, as well as crossing fees at the Rafah-Egypt border.
Another $5,500 USD or £4,400 Sterling Pounds will be needed to cover GoFundMe fees, money transfer fees, and finally, essential living costs for the family residence in Rafah and Egypt.
• $1,000 USD or £800 Sterling Pound for GoFundMe fees
• $1,000 USD or £800 Sterling Pound for money transfer fees
• $1,500 USD or £1,200 Sterling Pound for living costs for the family for this month in Gaza.
• $2,000 USD or £1,600 Sterling Pound for living costs for the family residence in Egypt for 2 months
Even a small contribution could help ensure their survival and give this young family hope for a better future. Please consider donating what you can to help my brother and his wife escape from the nightmare they are enduring. With your support, they may finally find respite from the terrors of war and take the first steps toward rebuilding their lives. This fundraiser aims to provide hope for new life.
