On Thanksgiving evening, my world completely shattered. I came home to find my 4-year-old Frenchie, Nellie, having a seizure on my kitchen floor—unresponsive, limp, and fighting for her life. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love her… she’s my whole heart, and seeing her like that was the most terrifying moment of my life.
I rushed her to the emergency vet in Lewiston, where she was admitted overnight, and early the next morning, 11/29, I had to transfer her to a 24/7 emergency facility in Portland. She’s still there now. Nellie has been diagnosed with autoimmune meningitis, and she also developed pneumonia from aspirating during her seizure. Right now, it’s still uncertain whether she’s going to make it through this. She has a very long road ahead, and the veterinary bills are already overwhelming.
I’m creating this GoFundMe because I’m doing everything I can to fight for her, but I can’t do it alone. Any help—no matter how small—means more to me than I can ever express.
