On Father’s Day, our lives changed forever.

“In a world full of mean girls, be, a Myah.”
There will never be another soul as kind, gentle, and loving as yours Myah. You were our light, our laughter, and the baby girl who completed our home in many ways. You were the sweetest blessing, and you will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever carried in our hearts.
On Father’s Day, Kaitlyn (16) and Myah (13) were involved in a devastating ATV accident that changed our family forever. Although neither girl suffered injuries from the crash itself, the ATV pinned them both face down beneath it. Myah was pinned across her chest, leaving her unable to breathe and depriving her brain of oxygen for far too long. As Kaitlyn desperately tried to tell the 911 operator where they were, she believed emergency responders were being directed to the wrong location. Every second mattered. I’m a full-grown adult, and even on my strongest days, I wouldn’t be able to lift that quad! I can only imagine how helpless and terrified both those girls must have felt. Myah was airlifted to a local hospital and then flown to Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, where she was surrounded by an incredible team of doctors, nurses, and caregivers who fought alongside us every step of the way. By the grace of God, Kaitlyn was evaluated, treated, and released from the hospital. We are beyond thankful for that blessing.
The doctors prepared mommy (Nikki) for the possibility of the worst—words no parent, sibling, grandparent, or loved one should ever have to hear. Through unimaginable heartbreak, Nikki held tightly to her faith. She continued to pray, believe, and ask God for a miracle. This journey has been an emotional roller coaster filled with moments of hope, fear, prayer, and heartbreak. Our family stayed by Myah’s side because there was nowhere else we wanted to be. During this time, Nikki was unable to work while caring for Myah and remaining by her side. While the paychecks stopped, the bills did not. The costs of emergency air transportation, travel, meals, hospital stays, household expenses, and now memorial arrangements have created an overwhelming financial burden. We never imagined we would have to ask for help, but today we humbly do.
At only 13 years old, Myah had her whole life ahead of her. She was a beautiful soul who loved deeply and brought joy to everyone around her. Even through this tragedy, Myah became a hero. She gave the gift of life through organ donation. Knowing Myah, we know she would have wanted to help save other people’s lives in a heartbeat. Her beautiful heart, kindness, and selflessness will continue to live on through the lives she touched. Myah had the sweetest, most contagious little wheezy laugh. She was strong, determined, incredibly shy, and full of the most purest love. She had a way of making everyone around her smile without even trying.
As we try to navigate this heartbreaking, life-changing loss, we are asking for help with Myah’s remaining hospital expenses, memorial costs, and the financial challenges our family is facing during this unimaginable time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease some of the financial burden and allow our family the time and space to grieve while honoring Myah’s beautiful life. If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. We ask that you please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers and consider sharing Myah’s story. Our precious Myah will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be our greatest blessing. Fly high, baby girl. Your love will continue to change the world.
Please continue praying for our family as we learn to live with this unimaginable loss. A quick note for those who choose to donate: The fundraising platform may automatically suggest an additional tip during checkout. This tip is completely optional. If you prefer not to leave a tip, you can adjust that amount before completing your donation. Every dollar you intend to give to Nikki and Myah’s family is deeply appreciated and means more than words can express.
As we continue through this unimaginable loss, I also want to begin educating others in the hope that no other mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, or family ever has to experience this kind of heartbreak.
If sharing Myah’s story can raise awareness, encourage safety, or help save even one life, then her beautiful legacy will continue to make a difference. We can’t change what happened to our precious girl, but we can do everything we can to help prevent another family from feeling this unbearable pain.
