Hope For Mom—Support Kari Meyers Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alexis Ford, and I’m starting this fundraiser for my incredible mom, Kari Meyers.
If you know my mom, you know she’s one of the strongest, kindest, and most thoughtful people you'll ever meet. She's a hard-working woman who dedicated her life to caring for others, both as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) and, more importantly, as a single mother of two daughters. She’s always been the kind of person who shows up for others, even when no one shows up for her.
Over a year ago, Kari was diagnosed with cervical cancer. After many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, we thought the worst was behind us. But in a devastating turn, the cancer had spread, now affecting her lungs and both of her kidneys. She’s been living with Nephrostomy tubes and dealing with countless medical complications. Cancer has taken away her ability to work, disrupted her life, and deeply impacted her ability to do what she loves which would include camping, gardening, going to concerts, and spending time with her family.
She has always fought to create a better life for me and my sister. She went back to school to get her PSW diploma, worked long hours with no support from our fathers, and still found ways to do little things to make us feel special once again always putting others before herself.
Now, we want to be there for her the way she’s always been there for us.
We’re hoping to raise $5,000 to $10,000 to help with the following: Medical expenses and ongoing treatments
Transportation to and from appointments,
Home care support, Basic bills during this time she can’t work.
This situation is serious and time-sensitive, and any support, no matter how small would mean the world to us.
To everyone reading this:
Whether you’re family, a friend, or a stranger, thank you. Your kindness, prayers, and support give us strength during the hardest chapter of our lives. If you’re not in a position to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser, every act of support counts.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of my mom’s fight. We still believe in hope, and we believe in her.
With love,
Alexis and Family
