Hope for Mike: Support for Medical Expenses and Living Costs

Hello all you lovely folks! Today we are advocating to gather support for someone we all know and love—Michael Terry.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing Mike Terry—whether from his years in construction, serving drinks with a smile at some of downtown Lexington’s iconic spots, or even back in his days playing trumpet in the Lafayette High marching band—you know just how much kindness and warmth he brings into the world.

Mike has never met a stranger. He’s the guy who remembers your name, who makes you laugh when you need it most, and who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He embodies the best of what it means to be a friend, a neighbor, and a proud native of Lexington, KY.

Now, Mike needs us.

In early 2024, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, a condition that has forced him to step away from his career at IMI Concrete. Since April, he has been out of work, struggling to secure disability benefits while facing mounting medical bills and the overwhelming costs of health insurance. This has been a hardship on Mike in this already difficult time, both physically and mentally.

Recent test results have revealed further complications, making his prognosis even more difficult. The road ahead is uncertain, but what is certain is that Mike shouldn’t have to face it alone.

Mike has continued to be strong and offer his humor through these strenuous times. As his loving friends, we want to remind Mike that he has many people in his life who would do whatever they can to help him out. We want to make sure he has the support and security he needs to focus on what truly matters—his health, well-being and living his life to the fullest

Moving costs for a more accessible apartment, and medical equipment
Transportation costs for appointments and hopefully a well-deserved excursion
