Dear Friend,
Matunda Ramazani, my wife, had the unexpected joy of greeting our little baby three and a half months early. I am attempting to raise money to help cover the costs of her medical bills while Matunda recovers from her emergency C-section. Our newborn child remains in the NICU at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital Winston-Salem in the NICU for the next three months. These circumstances prevent Matunda from working full-time.
As her husband, I have lived with a disability since the age of four caused by polio. I was working at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital Winston-Salem but recently lost my job. I am unable to transport an electric wheelchair to work because my vehicle does not have a ramp. The use of my manual wheelchair was too difficult for me and I was not able to provide adequate assistance due to long distances from any parking area or drop-off point.
Recently, we also learned that the IRS is taking our expected tax refund money due to an error in social security/disability payments from 2021-2022. Our family was counting on those funds to help us in these difficult circumstances. Basic expenses, such as rent, utilities, transportation, continue to accumulate. We have received some help with food. Ramazani is seeking another job but has not yet been successful. Ramazani’s effort to reapply for disability has been initially rejected and the process of appeal is lengthy and uncertain.
As a family of five, we need your help. We thank you for whatever you may be able to offer us as we work through these challenges. Your support will give us hope and help.
