My name is Amy Dorsey, and I am starting this campaign to benefit my sister-in-law, Kris Cox. Kris is one of the strongest and most caring, compassionate, and selfless people that I know. She is not quick to ask others for help but will not hesitate to help others when they are in need, without question.
Unfortunately, Kris has endured several years of unfathomable hardship and needs our help more than ever before. She has withstood the loss of her husband, and my brother, Mark Jeremy Cox. He was a Gulf War vet and passed away in January of 2012 from leukemia that was triggered as a result of the time he served our country in the Middle East. Within a year of my brother passing, Kris was diagnosed with breast cancer and most recently, we discovered the cancer has now spread to her small intestine.
Kris is a single mother and has continued to work despite everything that she has gone through. She has been undergoing chemotherapy while continuing to work and be a full time mother. This morning, she fell on the ice and broke her pelvis. If her battle against cancer and loss of her husband has not been enough, she is now looking at a very long recovery which will impact her ability to work.
I am humbly asking for any help you may offer Kris. If it is only your prayers, sharing this post, or words of encouragement, it will be enough and we will be forever grateful. Please let Kris know she is not alone in her fight!! Much love and many blessings to you all.
