Hope for Kelly Krasowski

As many of you have heard, our beloved Kelly Krasowski is in critical, but stable condition at a hospital downstate. With respect to her privacy we won’t share too many details, just that she is waking up, and wants to fight for her life. We get glimpses of that fun, loving, beautiful girl we all know, and we’re praying that she can make it through this process. We all know what an empathetic and sweet person she is. If you told Kelly a story about one of your own struggles, you can see it in her face how much she cared. Her Mamo and X-ray patients loved her, and based on all of the outpouring we have received…. It’s clear you all love her very much as well.

We know she’s had an extremely rough few years with losing two of the closest people in her life, then sustaining a career-ending injury at work.

Either way this goes, this is a long road ahead. God-willing they will qualify her for the care she needs to save her life, and we can hope for a full recovery within the year. Because of the location of the hospital that specializes in her illness, family has been driving 3+ hours round trip every day to remind her what she’s fighting for. Kelly will need months of follow up visits to that same hospital. Due to location, my husband and I (her “sister”-cousin) are planning to take over most of her day to day support and care, with the rest of the family supporting whenever, and however they can.

So many people have asked us what they can do to help. While we all feel a little helpless right now, we agree that Fundraising is probably the best thing we can do to support her and give her the best chance of success, long-term. Her medical care is going to cost significant amounts of money that she’s not able to make right now. Any money raised will go to transporting her to and from her mandatory appointments, and supporting her while she’s getting back on her feet and getting her life back. You know when she fully wakes up she will be in shock at everything that has happened, but we know this outpouring of support will help her understand that we are all with her and rooting for her new chance at life.
